The most significant difference between OLED lighting and all others is that OLEDs are perfectly diffuse area light sources. Until now luminarie designs have attempted to hide or cover the source of light - this is no longer case with OLED. The emitted light from OLED is calm and comfortable to the viewer's eye, even without the presence of shrouds and diffusers. At about 3000 cd/m2, the luminance of OLED is only about one-third of a T8 fluorescent lamp. Not only can the viewer look directly at the OLED without experiencing glare, but all who see them enjoy interacting within the warm and rich color (2800-3500K).
